Who's to Blame?
Paul’s parents did not tell Paul that Erik had spray painted him in the eyes, causing him to have poor vision. If you were Paul’s parents, what would you have done? Would you have told Paul that his brother spray painted him in the eyes? Why or why not? Would you have punished Erik or let him off like the Fisher’s did?

If I was the parent of Erik, I would most deffently punish Erik for spray painting Paul in the eyes! I do n ot think I would of told Paul rigwht away. I would choose this descion because i wolud not want Paul to get mad at his brother. I know for sure that i would tell Paul the truth when he was older, because he has the right to know!
If I were Paul's parents, I would have told Paul the truth. He deserves to know what happened to him! Maybe he would have still forgiven Erik had he known when he was young. I definatly wouldn't have let Erik off the hook. He would've been grounded for LIFE. He completely ruined Paul's life! But, if I was his mother, Erik wouldn't have done it in the first place. I would have raised him better!!!
I would have gave Erik a beaten and told him to goto his room if he said not I would hit him again.
I belive that Erik and his friend are the ones to blam. Also, I think that the parents are the ones to blame for not telling Paul the whole story of how he got his glasses. I think that it be agrivating to have huge glasses,and not know why you have them. Definatly, it would proublay be mostly the parents fault for not telling paul of the insident.
I would of told Paulk from the begining that it is his brothers fault that he has poor vision. Instead of hiding it from him i would tell him right from the gecco. There would be no reason to hide it from him. And i would def punish Erik. Because it is his fault that Paul has bad sight!And Paul has to live with that bad sight for the rest of his life all because of his stupid brother! And if i was one of there parents i would let Paul spraypaint Eriks eyes so he knew how it felt.

If i were Pauls parents, i would have told Paul the truth that his own brother spray painted his eyes because in my opinion, the truth always catches up with you sooner or later so you might as well tell the truth right then, because if i dont, then when Paul does find out, he ends up resenting his brother even more. In Eriks case, i would've punished him because it was a horrible thing to do, especially to your own brother. Letting him off would be saying it was ok to spray paint Pauls eyes.
If i were Pauls perants i would have told paul that erik sprayed paint in his eyes.And erik would have got in trouble bad.Erik would be beat and grounded.I would do this to teach erik not to do bad stuff and that not to hurt his brother its family

Madi!! I totally agree!! Dont you think it is wronge to just tell your kid a lie!! I would have felt horrible! If I were Paul I would have done the same thing. I would have made them break down and cry for every thing that they were holding back every year.
If my son got sprayed in the eye by his older brother not only would my son be grounded for 3 months he would going around the community and cleaning off any spray paint on any wall. Erik would have been in so much trouble he wouldn't think about doing something like that again.
i can not belive the way erik's parents handled that sitution with erik spray painting pauls eyes! i would have been HOT! i would have done everything i could do in my pwr to punish erik as much as i could leagully!he definatly would not be playing football for a long time!
I would tell paul when he was at least older i,mean old enough to have a job and mabey a house but i hope that they dont know each other because they might get in a fight but one way or a nother i would tell them
If i was pauls parents i would punish Erik and not let him play football for the rest of his life. I would have told paul what Erik did to him because he would need to know what happenedto him.
if i was the parent of erick i would punish him because he made paul blind.also it also ruind pauls life. iwould have told paul because he would like to know how he got blind.
If I were pauls parents i would soooo ground erik for life. Iwould make him do chores all day, loose TV and cell phone privalages, only have a limited time out of the house, and no having any friends over at all! And i would have told paul the truth about his eye sight, because i would not want him wondering why he didnt have good eye sight, and have to lie to him about it.
i would of course tell paul what happened to him and punish erik.i mean,not knowing what happened to your eyesight can be pretty frustrating for a 5-year old growing up.Erik was a dangerous kid back then and got even more crazy.to help paul understand it would be best to tell the truth
If I was mr. Fisher,I would ground Erik until he moved out of the house. Then,when Paul got to a certain age, I would tell him why he had such bad vision so he can understand and not hate himself.
If I were Paul's Psrents then I would have punished eriik and told Paul what he did. The way I would have told Paul would have beenlike this; "Paul, your brother sprayed spray paint in your eyes and you might or might not get your sight back. Erik is no longer allowed to talk or be near you or victor.
If I were the parents of Erik I would definately punish him. I would have felt like i had to tell Paul right away beacause the sooner he found out the quicker he could get over it.
The Fishers are not very good parents. I see that the parents wanted to make it so Paul didnt hate Erik but he needs to know the truth. They could have found a way to punish Erik and not ruin their family.
I would definetely have punished Erik for what he did. He almost made his brother blind its not like he only hit him or something. Paul's parents are the ones to blame for what Erik does now. Maybe if he had been punished back then then he wouldnt be in this situation now.
I agree with mcluff that I wouldnt have told Paul right away. I think that if they had then he wouldnt have understood anyway so its better to wait.
If I was Eriks parents I would snap on him...I would do something back to see how he would like it..... But when it came down to Paul then I wouldn't tell him right away I would wait for the perfect time... And I would most likly punish Erik because if that that was him who got spray paint sprayed in his eyes I know for a fact by my readings then he would flip out..... But I would have to make sure that i do something to him
I' would have told Paul the truth IF he was not a vengeful man/boy. Vengeful+grudge since childhood= dead erik. However i would not have let Erik off the hook. If you were a parent, aand some other kid almost caused your son/daughter to go blind they would not get away, without a good beating. Letting them off makes them get cocky.

If I were Paul's parents, I would ground Erik for his life. He would even be grounded when I and/or he was dead. I don't think I would tell Paul that his brother and his friend spray painted his eyes because then he would hate him for life. If my sister spray painted my eyes and then I couldn't see, i wouldn't want to know because I would hate her so much.
If I was eriks parents i would tell him to go to his room and tell him not to come out ever until you think about what you did to your brother.
If i was the parent of paul and erik and i found out that erik spray painted paul's eyes I would have gave erik big consequenses and more than one too!I would have told paul what happend the first day he got out the hospital.I would punish him because even if he did tell on him he should not have cause such a severe injury.

If i was Paul I would tell my mom then if she didn't lession I would take maddiers into my own hands and get them to lesson.

I partially agree with Jessica. Paul has the right to know what happened to him but I would not have told him because then he would hate him for the rest of his life. It is not good for family members to hate each other.
If i was Eriks parent i would punish him. Thanks to Erik paul has a very serious eye problem that can not be fixed!!!! I would also tell Paul right away because such a serious happening should not be hidden from him and he wouldnt be left wondering how his impaired vision started. The Fisher family seems to not be honest in my opinion....

I would have told Paul that Eric had spraypainted him in the eyes,so Paul wont be wondering why his eyesight is messed up. If my son had spraypainted his brother in the eyes i would not let him off the hook without any punishment he would be in some seriouse trouble.
i defentally would have punished erik. but i probably wouldnt have told paul. i wouldnt have told paul because he was little and had little chanse of rembering it. that way paul wouldnt be mad at erik for the rest of his life.
